In what we’ve been playing, Jesse has kept on trucking with Mass Effect 2. He is finally starting to come around now that he stopped trying to be a regular old super soldier using Shepard Time (TM) to head-shot fools.

Jonah and Wes have both been playing Ron Gilbert’s new joint, Deathspank, and his old joint, Monkey Island 2: Lechuck’s Revenge (the special edition flavor). We also talk some Tales of Monkey Island, Pix’n Rush, and Borderlands.

In Let’s Play Together, Jonah and Jesse have been trying out the latest jam from Square-Enix, Dragon Quest IX. Playing for several hours on end has motivated Jonah to look into picking up a DSi XL.

On a very special seventy-fourth episode of the video game podcast “Barrel Roll!”, the guys witness history in the making as Scissor-Man scores a million goal-points to win the World Cup for team ScissorMans.

Returning junior editor Russ “the Bus” Walsh attempt to tell us about Crackdown 2 , but his spirits become too crushed to continue on. Adam has finally joined us in 2005 and picked up an Xbox 360, so he has mostly been playing older XBLA titles like Shadow Complex and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

Jonah had a chance to try out the co-op mode in Sin and Punishment: Star Successor. He also picked up the new Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck’s Revenge. Meanwhile, Jesse has fired up the space jams with Mass Effect 2.

Jesse has been sick for several days, but doesn’t let that keep him from showing up for the cast. Now that’s dedication!

In our “Games Played Last Week” segment, Jesse talks Transformers: War For Cybertron as well as some more Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker. He also got his hands on the latest insanity from Treasure, Sin and Punishment: Star Successor, getting all the way up to 9th place in the rankings… at least for the few hours immediately following the games release.

Meanwhile, Jonah had his face smashed in by some giant mutants in Metro 2033, and tried the early access to APB: All Points Bulletin.

We also talk some classic Donkey Kong Country in our “Let’s Play Together” segment and find that we still enjoy it.

Meanwhile, on a very special seventieth episode of “Barrel Roll! A Video Game Podcast”, the Rainbow Suspenders of Justice Friends meet at the Hall of Justice to take down Lex Luthor and his cohorts in the Hall of Doom. Will their fashion sense be enough to save the world?

In our “Games We Played This Week” segment, Jonah and Jesse tell tales of an actual LAN party (using computers and everything!) with Rainbow Six Vegas 2. Jonah has been trying his best to finish Saints Row 2 before the show (but failed), has put a little more time into Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadow and it’s finally starting to click. He also spent time with DJ Hero thanks to the recent price drops and sales.

Jesse has been playing Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, which may just be the best PSP game he has played. He also picked up Mega Man Zero: Collection, despite owning all the games on GBA. Wesley has been spending all his time on with Assassin’s Creed 2 and it’s DLC missions.

In the news, we nerd out about Telltale’s announcement of a Back to the Future game. There is a lot of talk about what we would like to see in DJ Hero 2 and which Dreamcast games we’d like to see hit XBLA and PSN.

On a most excellent sixty-ninth episode of “Barrel Roll! A Video Game Podcast”, the dudes must travel through time to find the most  bodacious of all gaming experiences.

When the time comes for the shooting of the breeze, Jesse and Adam give us the rundown on their experience with the VD-W3 Wii HDMI Upscaler Processor. EXCELLENT!

In what we’ve been playing, the guys return to Monster Hunter Tri and 3D Dot Game Heroes. Jonah has been giving some portable games a try in the form of Highborn and Carcassonne on the iPod Touch as well as Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadow on the DS.

In the news, the guys talk pre-E3 rumors, particularly on the Nintendo 3DS. There is also talk of multiplayer gameplay hitting the Mass Effect universe, a new Contra game in the works, and a patch to Lost Planet 2 that addresses nearly all of our complaints.

On a very special sixty-eighth episode of WingDamage.com’s podshow, “Barrel Roll! A Video Game Podcast”, the guys discover that not all Pac-Man clones are as family friendly as you would think.

It is a hard life lesson, but thankfully returning guest hosts Wesley “Dolla Billz” Johnson and Adam “Heatman” Anania are there to help us deal with the awkwardness that comes with being part of the internet.

In our segment on the games we have been playing, there is a big rundown of Super Mario Galaxy 2, as the majority of this week’s hosts have had a chance to play it. Alan Wake talk makes it’s return, as do wacky stories from Muhlenberg county. Two of the three recently released racing games are discussed (Blur and Split/Second, but not Modnation Racers), and Wes gives the re-release of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney a spin on his iPhone.

The news segment attempts to bring around further Sonic 4 talk,  but the guys can’t work up a care to give. Same goes for keyboard talk with Rock Band 3.

They do manage to get into the Earthworm Jim, Castlevania, and 3DS talk, which makes up for the lack of enthusiasm on the other stories.

Wes also gives us his review of the new Prince of Persia movie. All this and more on the latest “Barrel Roll!”

"I hope you brought extra batteries..."

On a very special sixty-seventh episode of “Barrel Roll! A Video Game Podcast”, we split the show into two parts.

The first part is our regular “The Games We Played Last Week” segment followed by a “Friday Old Games” recap. In part two, we are joined by special guest Shawn Baxter of the Capcom Community Blog for an in-depth Monster Hunter Tri and Lost Planet 2 discussion.

What we’ve been playing consists of more Just Cause 2 for Wesley, even though he has been gone from the show for nearly a month, as well as some talk of Alan Wake. Jonah has mostly been playing games on his new iPod Touch in the form of Doodle Jump and Ninja Town: Trees of Doom. He also tried, and failed, to learn how to play Tropico 3.

Jesse picked up Split/Second and gives us the low-down on the new arcade racer, and tells us a little about the new Trauma Team, a spin-off of the Trauma Center series.
