Thanks guys!

We only had the one camera, so it was either still pics or a low-res video. I'm sort of a photography nut, so I opted for the higher-res stills. I wish we could have done both though.

@Michelle - The store is "Gamer Time", where several of the WD writers work/have worked. It's a small independent store in my home town of Snohomish, WA (USA).

That was awesome. A video would have been nice, but the pics were great too. Honestly, I remember opening mine on Christmas Day in '99 and it was one of the best presents I'd ever had. I played it non-stop well into the new year.

I'm proud to say that that very Dreamcast is sitting nicely next to my PS3 and 360 to this day. It'll never be gotten rid of and will always have a place within my hooked-up consoles.

Such a shame it didn't get a full gen to shine. If all of those games were what it had in just 18 months, imagine if the console had had 4-5 years.

Oh well, at least Sega aren't completely out of the running and they're still making great games like Valkyria Chronicles.

Where did you take the piccies boys? The prospect of seeing piccies of an American game store excites me almost as much as the unboxing itself, have to appreciate they're all imports for moi! ;)

Seriously though I was always puzzled by the change in boxes and styling between the various regions. Our Dreamcast logo was blue, our game boxes were blue, and chunkier (admittedly harder to open, but gorgeous to look at)

Our boxes were a sleek mix of dark chrome blue, white and light blue, it just screamed minimalism and sexiness, it came in the sort of box Apple does now.

Ohhhh Dreamcast...
