Sorry to have dropped the ball on this one, so here is another chance to be entered into our PAX Pack Giveaway #2. Since I forgot to list the prizes in the podcast post and needed it to be on the site, you can either comment in that post or in this one.
The big question, “Which one counts as yours?”
Just answer that in the comments and you could win. The Winner will be picked at random on the next episode of Barrel Roll.

Hands-On Impressions: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash Up (Wii)

"Where's the radical Pizza dudeshell turtles?!"
Fans of the Smash Bros. series looking for a new fix will be happy to hear that Ubisoft’s newest addition to the long line of TMNT games, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash Up”, will scratch that party game/fighter hybrid itch.
While the comparisons to Smash Bros. are inescapable, the dev team said in a recent interview with IGN that this game was built from the ground up. While it retains the simplified fighting controls of the Smash Bros. series, even down to the block/roll to get out of danger (not surprising since the games share many of the same developers), the actual moves your character performs are all based in real martial arts moves.
Hands-On Impressions: The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks (DS)

"The Legend of ChooChoo: Phantom, the Friendly Ghost"
There’s something we all need to come to grips with right now: Link rides a train. Why does Link ride a train? I have no idea, but let’s just get past that for now.
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks demo was divided into three sections. Each one had a different focus. The first one put you in a dungeon with your new Phantom pal. The other scenarios showed off a boss battle and Link’s latest wacky vehicle, the train. Thanks to multiple visits to the Nintendo booth, I was able to try out all three.
Hands-On Impressions: Sands of Destruction (DS)

"A new JRPG developed by a dream team."
Sands of Destruction is a JRPG that has been very high on my watch list for awhile now. The reason for this is the people involved with the game. My personal favorite composer, Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger, Xenogears), is responsible for the soundtrack, Masato Kato (Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VII, Xenogears) is the game’s scenario writer, and Kunihiko Tanaka (Xenogears) is the character designer. Each of these people have several renowned JRPGs already under their belt, so it’s needless to say that the game is created by a dream team.
Unfortunately, a short demo in a crowded and noisy room is a terrible way to experience an RPG. To make matters worse, I only had a single party member when I jumped into the demo which appeared to be close to the beginning of the game. In spite of this, I gathered what info I could in my short time with it.
Barrel Roll! Episode #30 – “PAXisode”

"PAX.... In SPACE!"
On a very special episode thirty of “Barrel Roll! A Video Game Podcast” we have Wes, Jesse, and Jonah all in the same room for only the second time. This episode is extra long and full of our hands-on impressions of all the games we played, video demonstrations we saw, and panels we attended at the Penny Arcade Expo in Seattle, WA.
Hands-On Impressions: Split/Second (Xbox 360, PS3)

"Should I Leave a Note?"
When Brittany and I walked into the main exhibition hall at Penny Arcade Expo 2009 (PAX to it’s homies), the first thing she noticed was a big Disney sign hanging from the ceiling in the back corner, far off in the distance. She is such a big fan of the classic Disney movie properties that she was insanely curious to see what the company would have on hand at a game show.
I figured it would just end up being a game of whatever their latest kids movie was. Instead it turned out to be a high quality arcade racer titled “Split/Second”.
Hands-On Impressions: Dark Void (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)

"Gears of War + Jetpacks + Awesome = Dark Void"
Truth be told, “Dark Void” is a game that I was not following very closely. At a distant glance, it looked to be yet another third person shooter in a crowded market of first and third person shooters. To my surprise, Dark Void ended up being one of the funnest demoes I played at this year’s PAX.
Let the PAX Coverage Begin!
As we’ve already mentioned, several members of the WingDamage crew will be attending PAX in Seattle… TODAY! We will do our best to deliver hands-on impressions of as many unreleased games as our rag-tag crew can handle.
Most (if not all) of our coverage on the site will probably have to wait until Monday when we actually have time to sit at a computer and gather our thoughts, but that doesn’t mean you have to be out of the loop until then. Where there’s phones, there’s Twitter. Head past the break for a list of the Twitter accounts for the attending staff members.
