The Leftovers: Jesse’s Picks
Not every game we love makes it into the WingDamage top 10. Some of them just don’t have enough unanimous support. These are what we like to call “The Leftovers.”
There were a lot of games I really enjoyed this year. In fact, I didn’t even get a chance to play every game that I wanted to. Afterall, there’s only so much time in the day. Also, well… 170 hours of Monster Hunter Tri really took a chunk out of the time I could have spent with other games.

Barrel Roll! #99 – “Mysterious Disappearing Flavor”
On a very special ninety-ninth episode of “Barrel Roll! A Video Game Podcast”, Wes returns to help us solve the mystery of the disappearing flavor. Sure, pineapple soda is delicious, but as soon as a brand makes their own version, it vanishes from the market. Is their some soda based conspiracy, or is old man Withers at the haunted amusement park up to his old tricks again?
After discussing the new games this week, the guys talk about what games they’ve been playing. Adam gives his initial impressions of Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and talks about his return to Minecraft. Jonah finally sat down with Sin and Punishment: Star Successor. Wes gives us his thoughts on Back to the Future: The Game and Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Jesse is still trying to find the fun in Kirby’s Epic Yarn and also teams up with Jonah for some Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Monster Hunter Portable 3rd.
All this and more on the latest podshow from the Barrel Rollers.

Review: Sin & Punishment: Star Successor (Wii)
Sin & Punishment: Star Successor is often referred to as a “dream sequel”. The original Sin & Punishment never made it to America in cartridge form, though it was later released on the Wii’s virtual console. It’s been a full decade since the release of the last game. Now in 2010, not only is there a sequel, it’s actually released outside of Japan.
For those not in the know, Sin & Punishment is a third-person rail shooter. In other words, it has more in common with Star Fox than House of the Dead. Quite possibly the best way to describe it is to take a Bullet-Hell SHMUP, combine it with a Run ‘n Gun game such as Contra, then put that in a 3D space.
Barrel Roll! #73 – “Allzyagottado”
On a very special seventy-third episode of our video game show, Barrel Roll!, Wes is once again looking for love in all the wrong internet chat forums. Jesse tries to explain to him that “Allzyagottado is…” but never gets to finish his thoughts before we start in with the gaming talk. This is all pre-show, of course, and has no bearing on the episode at large.

Barrel Roll! #72 – “I LOVE Throwing Grenades!”

Jesse has been sick for several days, but doesn’t let that keep him from showing up for the cast. Now that’s dedication!

The second quarter of 2010 contains a lot of solid releases. Will we ever have time to catch up on our backlog? More and more, it’s looking like the answer is a big, fat “no”. However, you might find a few games from Q1 that have snuck in thanks to delays. What you’ll see below is a collection of the WingDamage staff’s most anticipated Wii games of Q2 2010.
