Monster Hunter Makes the Jump to PS3 in Portable 3rd HD Version
When fans were asked what they’d like to see from Monster Hunter in the future, one of the more common answers seen was, “Bring it to PS3!” Well, it looks like Capcom had already been secretly preparing to make that a reality.
Today, Sony has announced the PSP Remaster Title Series. The first game to get the HD treatment (at least in Japan) is none other than Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, the latest (yet to be released in North America) game in the main series.
Monster Hunter Portable 3rd HD Version will allow players to experience the game in all its uprezzed glory. You’ll also be able to make use of the second analogue stick for camera control. That’s right. No more hand cramping claws! (more…)
FOG Review: Gundam Battle Assault 2 (PS1)
“Friday Old Games” is a series of articles in which we review a game from the older generations of consoles, share why we picked it, and whether or not it holds up with time.
Gundam Battle Assault 2 is a one-on-one 2-D fighting game where giant mechs punch and shoot each other in the face. The game lets you experience several Gundam universes. The story loosely follows the events of the One Year War, the 13th Gundam Fight, and the Endless Waltz OVA.
Which I take to mean, “giant mechs punching and shooting each other in the face”.
Review: God of War III (PS3)
I finished God of War III a couple of days ago and I have been trying to come to grips with the game. In many ways, it is the best in the series and in others it is the tiniest bit of a letdown.
If you were expecting a revolution in terms of gameplay you’ll be disappointed. You still don’t have control of the camera, you’ll still be doing quick time events, and you’ll still be abusing the Square, Square, Triangle combo.
Even with all that God of War III stands tall as an amazing game and a climactic conclusion to Kratos’ tale of revenge.
Review: Heavy Rain (PS3)
Heavy Rain is an interesting game. It tries to do a lot of things in a way that other titles have not done before. Rather than going for the straight up adventure or action game, the goal was to make a piece of interactive fiction; a movie where you control the character decisions and the final outcome.
It is a hard one to talk about without giving away any spoilers, but I will keep this review completely spoiler free. Have no fear if you have not yet played Heavy Rain. It’s plot secrets are safe with me.
