The Top 10 Best Videogame Soundtracks of 2009

"A very subjective list."
Some really fantastic soundtracks came out this year. There’s no way I could write about all of them, so I’ve chosen my ten favorites to share. I’m only counting soundtracks of games that were released in North America in 2009 (sorry, Bayonetta). As music is very subjective, these are just my personal picks.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I love videogame soundtracks. Over the years, there have been many influential and just plain incredible soundtracks. I would like to take a moment to recount some of my favorites in no particular order.
Soundtrack Review: Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 (ps2 import)

"Best racing soundtrack based on an obscure manga license ever!"
I listen to a LOT of videogame soundtracks. Sometimes I read positive things about a new soundtrack for a game I haven’t even played and end up listening to it. This is one of those cases.
Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 is an odd case for me. It’s a racing game for the ps2 based on a manga named “Wangan Midnight”. I can’t think of any other time I have actually sought out a soundtrack to an Anime/Manga based, import only game. But I recognized the composer and had heard very positive things, so I decided to check it out.
