Barrel Roll! #122 – “Metroidaster Master”
Don’t get lost in the maze. New abilities will allow you to reach new areas so that you can continue to explore in SOPHIA, your souped up Space Car. Just remember, it’s up to you to take out the space pirates before they can use the ultimate weapon: The Metroids!
After the stirring New Releases and News segments of the podcast, Jonah, Jesse, Adam & Adam 2 bust into the games they’ve been playing this week. Most of the guys have been playing through The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, though Adam 2 still doesn’t quite see the appeal of 3D Zelda games. Not that kind of the 3D, but the other kind.
Jesse and Adam gave the Sonic Generations demo several playthroughs, and Jesse even booted up Sonic 4 to make a more accurate comparison as to why this one is good and that one was terrible. Jesse also talks about his most recent import (it isn’t a SHMUP this time) Danball Senki, which is like Pokémon except for the parts that are nothing like it. After his brief love affair with GO Series: Picdun, Adam decided to give GO Series: Captain Sub a try, with sexy results. Not to be outdone, Adam 2 gives us the low down on Frozen Synapse, as well as Super Bat Puncher and Super Puzzle Platformer.

Barrel Roll! #121 – “Ghostventures”
Just because you’ve left this mortal coil doesn’t mean you have to stop having adventures. OK, maybe they won’t be regular adventures anymore. Maybe they will be something more, something intangible, something spooky. That’s right folks, we’re talking about ghostventures (but probably just video games).
After an in-depth discussion of the new games dropping this week, Jonah, Jesse, Adam & Adam talk about what they’ve been playing this week. Jesse and Jonah give differing opinions on Child of Eden, while Jonah gives the run down on the Dungeon Siege III demo. More old Game Boy games were played by the guys thanks to the 3DS Virtual Console, so there is talk as to why everyone should buy both Donkey Kong (AKA Donkey Kong ’94) and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. Adam Anania fills us in on his further adventures with GO Series Picdun and Milecki brings us up to speed on the latest Captain Jameson updates.
