Sometimes a game comes along that seems like it’s hitting all the right marks. You like the concept, the aesthetics and the music. All the still images and preview videos get you really amped up for the game’s release. But alas, once you’ve played it, it just doesn’t click with you.

I am sad to say that was my experience with Rock of Ages. A game that, on the surface, had enough elements that seemed interesting and unique to me that I thought for sure I would like the game. I was wrong.

iFun4all marketed Paper Wars as an attempt to create the worst game ever. This clever marketing gimmick was certainly effective at getting my attention, but does the game live up to the anti-hype?

It’s no secret that I like pirates. I might not know how to sail a ship in real life, and I didn’t even enjoy those second two movies about certain pirates that hang out in the Caribbean, but the high sees make for an interesting setting for fantasy media.

At PAX, I came across the booth for Dust Devil Studios and their new tower defense game, Zombie Pirates. I talked a little with some of the guys that worked on the game and was originally going to write up my hands-on impressions. Long story short, I was given the hook up so I could give it a full review instead.

Mention Plants vs. Zombies to someone who hasn’t played it and they’ll look at you like you’re a little crazy. Like maybe you need to up your Lithium dosage a couple milligrams.

Mention Plants vs. Zombies to someone that has played it and they’ll look up at you with a big smile. They’ll then spend the next five minutes gushing about the game and how much they enjoyed it.
