"The Power Is Yours!"

Just a bit of info for all the Wingdamagians (Wingdamagisists?). It appears as though communism is on the brink of collapse in China. Several as yet unnamed sources have confirmed that this drastic policy shift is due in large part to the influence of wingdamage.com.

When asked to clarify, sources in mainland China have stated that “wingdamage.com is mega fun good time.” Noted science guy, Dr. Scientist, says, “We science type guys have known for a long time that reading wingdamage.com to your children insures that they will grow up to be totally rad, but we were unaware of its power to promote freedom and democracy.” Dr. Scientist then wandered off muttering something about possible grant money.

In all seriousness, it seems that a fairly large percentage of our readers are from outside the U.S. So let me take this opportunity to say “hey!”

We would love to read your comments about the video game trends and other stuff that is happening in your neck of the woods. In fact feel free to do so below or above if you’re from Australia (up is down there, right?).

Additional stuff from Jonah:

I wanted to let you all know that on this week’s Barrel Roll podcast, we will be telling tales of Punch-Out!! and would love to hear your thoughts on the series. Email us at podcast@wingdamage.com

I’m from the UK, and tbh everything’s pretty much the same, only we gat games 3 days later/4 days earlier and it’s got a £ rather than a $. I think it’s the Aussies that get screwed in both release dates and prices. The only things I can think of at the moment are that Excitebots hasn’t even got a release date over here, and Ghostbusters will only be on PS3/PSP. So busting ghosts will be a lonely affair because I can’t sit in a party and chat while I play.
Also, prices can drop very quickly over here – I’m picking up Bionic Commando tomorrow for £30/£45, on release day. And if sales aren’t massive, that’ll drop to £25/$37.50 or £20/$30 within a month or two.

Also from the UK here, heeeelloo !

Rob, perhaps that the case for Western based games but we’re still very much behind in regards to games releases in general, big titles will be near the US release sure, but normally we’re talking week or even months behind the States (hey at least for the things that I am interested in).
